Nancy O'Dell began her broadcast career as a reporter and anchor on WPDE-TV in Myrtle Beach South Carolina. Later, she was an anchor in the morning and a reporter for WCBD TV. O'Dell's reportage on the streets of Charleston regarding the leniency of police officers towards DUI cases has led to being the State Law Enforcement Division investigating the DUI incidents. Ms. O'Dell was honored by her colleagues at the Associated Press with the Best Report of the Year award for all media in South Carolina. Following her work in Charleston O'Dell served as anchor, co-anchor, and investigative reporter for NBC's Miami station WTVJ-TV before joining Access Hollywood as a weekend co-anchor and weekday correspondent. O'Dell anchors the main newscast at Access Hollywood. In addition she is a contributor to NBC News Today and Dateline NBC. The anchor has hosted a number of pre-shows and arrivals shows for The Emmys as well as The Golden Globe Awards. In addition, she hosted The Miss USA pageant as well as the Miss USA pageant and the Miss Universe pageant.
